Almost one-half of Notre Dame residence hall rooms are furnished with the Notre Dame Modular Furniture System (NDMFS). NDMFS is a furniture system designed to provide a variety of configurations based upon the room size and preferences of the residents while also ensuring the safety and sound construction of the furniture. NDMFS is a three part system composed of:

Modular furniture may only be assembled as prescribed above. Alternative configurations are not permitted, as they may pose a safety hazard. For more information, view our page on Unacceptable Room Configurations Page. Not all rooms have newer modular furniture in them; however, most every room contains:
Students occupying rooms with modular furniture are not permitted to construct elevated bed structures. Rooms without modular furniture may be eligible for the construction of elevated beds. To see if your hall has modular furniture, visit the Hall Profiles. ** PLEASE NOTE: NOT ALL MODULAR FURNITURE LOOKS THE SAME AS THE PICTURES ABOVE; DIFFERENT VARIATIONS OF MODULAR FURNITURE EXIST ON CAMPUS -- THE MOST RECENT IS PICTURED. IMPORTANT: All modular furniture must stay in the room to which it is assigned. |
