Office of Residence Life and Housing Gathering Outside BP

WINTER SAFETY INFORMATION University of Notre Dame

Once temperatures begin to fall below freezing, residents must take extra precautions to ensure the health and safety of all residents of the hall. Here are a few of the more important reminders:

  • Be cautious when setting up decorations (especially those which are flammable).
  • Close windows tightly and keep them locked.
  • Open coil space heaters are prohibited.

For more information about the procedures for winter break closing, please refer to the Winter Break Closing Memo from the Office of Residence Life and Housing (note: due to the unique needs of each residence hall, the memo may change from hall to hall -- consult your Rector for hall-specific questions).

Specific questions regarding winter weather precautions should be directed to the Rector. General questions can be directed to orlh@nd.edu.
