ROOM CHECK-IN PROCEDURES University of Notre Dame

Check-in dates can be found on our Important Housing Dates reference sheet [PDF file]. Please be advised that move-in [as well as move out] dates are non-negotiable. In order to maintain an orderly move-in/check-in process, special requests to move-in early are generally not approved. Please make your travel arrangements accordingly.

When arriving in the hall, each student is given a Room Condition Report form to record the condition of listed furniture, furnishings and room surfaces. Each student is individually responsible for the furniture, equipment and general condition of the room. If the student fails to leave the room and its furnishings in the same general condition, appropriate charges will be assessed against the student’s account. Room Condition Reports must be signed by each resident of the room and by the resident assistant when a student moves in or out of a room.

NOTE: The University will take possession of the room or suite immediately after the assigned occupants leave the residence hall or withdraw from the University.
